Kedrion’s Industrial Research & Development area moves in three directions:

1. Industrial development, aimed at optimising the productive process to the highest levels of efficiency and guaranteeing the highest safety and quality standards;
2. Industrial research, in cooperation with national and international research centres, to find new products and new productive processes;
3. Transfer of technology both intra-company (between subsidiaries) and inter-company (to third-party companies).

For Kedrion, innovation is a distinctive characteristic within its own industrial model and one of its main strategic levers. Through continuous innovation, the company has managed to achieve the most excellent results, finding some of the most advanced and effective technological and productive solutions currently available and establishing a virtuous circle of product and process improvement.

A separate area of commitment is its research into plasma-derived medicinal products for the treatment of rare deficiencies, also known as “orphan drugs”. Kedrion is currently working in the research and development of such products in cooperation with public and private institutions.
