Kedrion at IPPC 2026: driving the conversation across the plasma ecosystem

Kedrion Biopharma is part of the 2026 International Plasma Protein Congress (IPPC), held in Milan, Italy, on April 28–29 under the organization of the Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA). The Congress focuses this year on “Resilience, Reach & Responsibility: building a high-performing, patient-centric plasma ecosystem”.

In line with this guiding theme, a large Kedrion delegation brings to the conference deep sector expertise and cross-functional perspectives, contributing to several sessions across a rich program focused on the key challenges and opportunities facing the industry.

Anti-D Immunoglobulins in Europe

Day 1 includes the session “Challenges and Future Solutions for Anti-D Immunoglobulins in Europe”, where Nelli Cherny (Director, Regulatory Affairs) and Donato De Mattia (Global Investigations and Data, Digital & Technology Manager) share Kedrion’s experience as an organization actively involved in both Anti-D plasma collection and supporting this area of care in the United States.

EU Regulatory and Industry Competitiveness

Dmitry Simkhovich (Global Head of Business Intelligence) joins the session “From Legislation to Practice: EU Regulatory Reforms and Industry Competitiveness”, focusing on how digitalization, data strategy and artificial intelligence can strengthen industry competitiveness, improve processes and enhance efficiency. Sophie Guerinet (Director, Intercontinental Market Access Lead) then contributes to “Strengthening Access to PDMPs Across Europe – Challenges and Opportunities”, exploring with the panel the pathways to sustainable, patient-centered access across Europe.

The Next Generation of Plasma Leadership

Day 2 sees Duccio Manetti (Group Chief Communication & Government Affairs Officer – Kedrion Biopharma) in the session “The Next Generation of Plasma Leadership”, highlighting that, in a complex plasma-derived landscape, the next generation of leaders carries a significant responsibility: not only delivering therapies, but also shaping the narrative that safeguards patients’ access to them.

Innovation

Andrea Caricasole (Research & Innovation Officer) also takes part in “Innovation: From Plasma to PDMPs”, a dedicated session on the latest advances in R&D for plasma-derived medicines, where he shares Kedrion’s strong commitment to innovation in rare and ultra-rare diseases.

Closing the first day of the Congress, Ferdinando Borgese (VP for Intercontinental Commercial Operations; Chairman of the PPTA EU Board of Directors) presents the Hilfenhaus Award.

On the sidelines of the Congress, on April 27, PPTA brought together industry representatives and community members at San Raffaele Hospital, underscoring the value of collaboration in addressing the challenges faced by people living with PIDs. The courtesy visit was sponsored by Kedrion, supporting meaningful exchange and partnership across the PID community.
