From 10 to 13 February, Kedrion was in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, for a series of meetings and discussions with government officials, representatives of technical bodies, clinicians and patient associations. The mission, supported by the Italian Embassy in Tashkent, aimed to open a channel of dialogue with Uzbek authorities and evaluate opportunities for collaboration.
Our delegation, including Duccio Manetti (Chief Communication Officer), Ferdinando Borgese (Vice President, Intercontinental Region & ICM) and Aleksandar Marinkovic (Commercial Director, Eastern Europe), met with the Minister of Health, Khudayarov Asilbek Anvarovich; the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, Kudratov Laziz Shavkatovich; and the Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, Abdulla Azizov.
During these meetings, the Kedrion delegation presented its activities and growing commitment in the field of rare and ultra-rare diseases. The discussions with the Minister of Health and the Director of the Pharmaceutical Agency were particularly valuable opportunities to discuss the current status and future prospects of plasma-derived therapies in Uzbekistan, with an emphasis on Immunoglobulins and Albumin.
The meetings concluded with a strong outlook for continued dialogue and the development of collaborative agreements and projects to improve Uzbek patients’ access to plasma-derived therapies.
The mission also included a visit to the Haematology Centre of the Paediatric Oncology Hospital in Tashkent. As always, engaging with physicians and patients underscored the importance of Kedrion’s ongoing mission to expand patient access to plasma-derived therapies worldwide.
