Kedrion scientific symposium at the 2019 PNS Conference in Genoa, Italy

 

More than a thousand experts from all over the world attended the 2019 Peripheral Nerve Society (PNS) Annual Meeting in Genoa (Italy) on 22-25 June. Kedrion Biopharma joined in this event with a delegation of 50 international guests coming from Austria, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Turkey and United Arab Emirates. A Kedrion scientific symposium, held on June 23rd, offered Key Opinion Leaders the opportunity to share their experiences and comment on new possible therapeutic options for the treatment of Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neurotoxicity (CIPN). The discussion, which was moderated by Professor Eduardo Nobile-Orazio (Istituto Humanitas, Milan, Italy) and Professor Angelo Schenone (University of Genoa, Italy), opened with a contribution by Andreas Argyriou, MD (Saint Andrews General Hospital, Patras, Greece) on the main unmet clinical needs in the prevention and treatment of CIPN; then, Professor Guido Cavaletti (University of Bicocca, Monza, Italy) described preliminary results for the treatment of CIPN in animals; finally, also Professor Nathan Staff (Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, USA) focused on the treatment of these kinds of toxic neuropathies.
