ESID and GPM 2024: amplifying the voices of the PID community

During the ESID 2024 and Global Patients Meeting conferences, held recently in Marseille, we not only engaged in our company activities but also seized the opportunity to connect with some of the most influential Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the field. Their expertise and insights are invaluable, especially on pressing topics that impact the Primary Immunodeficiency (PID) community.

In our conversations, we delved into crucial issues such as the awareness of Neonatal Screening across different countries. Increasing awareness of the importance of implementing these screenings, where they are not yet in place, and integrating SCID (Severe Combined Immunodeficiencies) in regions where the screening is already established, can lead to improved early diagnosis and timely treatment for infants with Immunodeficiencies.

We also discussed the vital role of local medical and scientific societies and patient organizations in supporting individuals affected by these conditions and their families, highlighting how educational programs and community engagement foster awareness and advocacy.

We are excited to share these messages with all the people who support and care about the challenges faced by the PID Community. These discussions emphasize the importance of the collaboration within the Community and serve as a call to action for all of us to advocate for better awareness and support.
